4S FALCONS PEE WEE 2ND SEASON SETS NEW SAN DIEGO RECORD

On November 10th, the American Youth Football League (AYFL) 4S Falcons Pee Wee football team, coached by Nano Sacay, closed out their 2007 season with a playoff win against the Steel Canyon Cougars and headed to the San Diego Championship game, Q Bowl. The 4S Falcons played against and lost to the 2006 National Champions, Los Torros 14 – 36. The undefeated season earned the 4S Falcons a Wildcard at the National Championship game in Orlando Florida the first week of December. The 4S Falcons played a good game but lost their opener game to the Naperville Patriots (Chicago IL.), which ended up becoming the 2007 National Champions. In their second game at Nationals, the Falcons went home with a big win over the Tucson, Arizona Pee Wee Champions. The Falcons defense flexed its muscle by allowing only 20 total yards in offense defeating the Tucson Cowboys 6-0. “Ending the season with a win over a good football team was an appropriate way to head back home to San Diego,” said Head Coach, Nano Sacay, “Our goal is to provide another outstanding season for our youth here by making it back to this level next season”. The Falcons finished the season placing in the TOP 5 in the Nation.

Mark Malham, President and founder of the 4-S Falcons, and Defensive coach was disappointed, but was quick to point out the enormous accomplishment of this young football team. “These young athletes and the coaching staff had a very successful season,” said Malham. “This is something very special to build on”. The Falcon’s, in their 2nd year in existence, set an AYFL record to make the Q Bowl and the National Championship in the shortest time in existence.

The coaching staff is already preparing for next season. The team will be adding its second professional strength and conditioning coach to work with the athletes during the season and many of these athletes will also be working with them individually in the off-season to increase their athletic skills.

GO FALCONS!!
